some enchanted evening
This past Saturday was Tracy's birthday. What's a better way to celebrate than get gorgeous and go dancing? Philebrity was throwing a Valentine's prom themed "The Enchantment Under the Sea Dance" after the party in Back To The Future. It was an awesome good time and so amazing to see everyone making the effort for going all out in prom finery! And the band was so good I confiscated their tambourine & maracas, dancing the night away until my feet couldn't take it anymore.

yesteryear

Tomorrow night we ring in a new decade. For me, this means a lot. The past decade was difficult to say the least and though it started off looking promising-it became more challenging and overwhelming. This past year has been the biggest hurdle of them all and I am ready to put it to rest. I have been doing some serious soul searching and am ready for change and improvement in all aspects of my life. 2010 marks that change. I have started with taking tomorrow night off. I usually tend bar somewhere because it is a good money night and this year I was scheduled to work. I found a replacement and took the night off. Working less is on the top of my list of things to change.
SO tomorrow night I want to celebrate-change, friends, the future, self improvement, being positive, things getting better. But what to wear? There is barely a dollar in my bank account let alone my wallet so a new frock is out of the question. Time to dig into the closet and dust off one of my old chestnuts. I thought about it for a while. I have two black vintage gowns from the 1960's. One is plain with an empire waist and dramatic neckline, the other is a column dress and has very ornate woven rust & gold trim. I also bought an ornate gold sequined headpiece from Bambi a few months ago that I have been saving to wear. I tried some combinations on this morning and decided my theme for the night is 1910. Gibson Girl meets silent screen siren, meets the Flapper.
