Now that is has officially hit summer temperatures, my mind has drifted to fall. Strange and true. Don't get me wrong, at this point, I am thoroughly enjoying throwing on a sundress & sandals during this heatwave, but a brisk autumn day and fall's fashion finery are always welcome. It is surely my favorite time of the year. After looking through the '08 collections, this was the cream of the crop for me:

a lil' something new

Today we got in some fine goods from local fashion cutie-pie and designer Lil' Red (aka Melissa Jean Yerkes). If you haven't stumbled into one of her traveling trunk shows-now's the time to get to grasshopper and get her goods. Melissa hand picks vintage leather goods and creates super one-of-a-kind pieces that she individually distresses and hand-stamps. I have one of her bags and it's one of those things people are always asking me about. Here's what's new:

Happy Birthday Mr. Architect...........

Frank Lloyd Wright (June 8 1867 - April 9, 1959) wan an architect, interior designer, writer and educator. He was a man ahead of his time. He was a pioneer in many ways. He was a leader of the "prairie school" movement of architecture. He designed furniture, stained glass and even his own clothing. Famous not only for his body of work, but also for his scandalous personal life which suffered two failed marriages and murder. In 1914 a male servant he hired set fire to the living quarters of Taliesin and murdered seven people with an axe, including Wright's mistress. Wright was recognized in 1991 by the American Institute of Architects as "the greatest American architect of all time". I love it all and these pictures inspire me to find my dream home. One day..........
