Wonderland

Born in London in 1964, Miles is the son of Alan Aldridge, a celebrated art director who designed Penguin book covers and album art for the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Cream and the Who. Surrounded by his father's friends including Elton John, Eric Clapton, and David Bailey he found himself smack in the middle of the pop art world that was London in the sixties.

After art school, Aldridge embarked on a career as an illustrator but found it too solitary a pursuit. Then he purchased a Super 8 camera. For three years he worked as a music video director. His career path would change suddenly when some still images he took of his aspiring model girlfriend would land in the hands of British Vogue. The editors called him in immediately and his prolific photography career took off.

In 1997 Aldridge married the five months pregnant American supermodel, Kristin McMenamy. Their first child was born four months later.

friday with france

She was the ultimate in French Yé-yé girls, a 60's pop sensation and quite the fashion plate. Molded by Serge Gainsbourg, France Gall had a dynamic international music career and even dabbled in acting. This sugary sweet blonde has a timeless look that is part Sienna Miller and part Heather Grahm-and in so many cases is still relevant today. I love her music too-the perfect soundtrack to a warm spring afternoon.
