Foxey

Cyrinda Foxe (February 22, 1952 - September 2000) was a 70's model, actress and groupie. Foxe was born Kathleen Hetzekian in Santa Moncia, CA. She describes her upbringing as abusive, so she left home before graduating high school. She briefly lived in Texas before settling in New York City.

Kathleen changed her name to Cyrinda Foxe and started making the rounds of the 70's New York nightclub scene. Most nights she was a fixture at the famed Max's Kansas City. She became an actress; her best known role was in Andy Warhol's Bad in 1977. During this time she was having an affair with David and Angie Bowie. She became pregnant with David's baby and had an abortion.

Although Foxe idolized the Rolling Stones, she eventually became involved with The New York Dolls, a glam rock band often compared to the Stones. In 1977, after years of dating, Foxe married David Johansen, the frontman of the Dolls. At the time, the New York Dolls had the same management as Aerosmith, and while Cyrinda was involved with David, she met Aerosmith's lead singer Steven Tyler. After less than a year of marriage to David, Cyrinda left David for Steven. Cyrinda and Steven married and had a daughter, Mia Tyler, but the marriage was troubled by drug addiction, extramarital affairs, and physical and emotional abuse. Cyrinda and Steven divorced shortly before Aerosmith made a comeback in the late '80s.

In 2001, Cyrinda had a stroke that left her partially paralyzed. She subsequently died from a brain tumor one year after.
