with a "Z"

Long before her fourth marriage, hanging out with Michael Jackson and tattooing her eyebrows on, Liza Minnelli was stylish little minx that performed and partied her way through the 60's and 70's. The daughter of two major talents, Judy Garland & Vincent Minnelli, Liza had a lot to live up to. She began performing at age 17, in 1963, but it wasn't until two years later when she made an appearance on stage with her mother in London that she won the hearts of her audience. In 1967 Liza began her acting career staring in Charlie Bubbles and by 1973 she nabbed the Best Actress Academy Award for her performance in Cabaret along with a Golden Globe Award, and graced the covers of Time and Newsweek Magazines simultaneously. Since then she has had quite a prolific career and has become a legendary performer. If you haven't seen Cabaret-add it to your cue. I am not a big fan of musicals, but the styling alone in this film will keep you glued not mention Minnelli's performance-it made her the icon she is today.

She was a stylish little minx, but I still think, even at her prime, that she was weird looking. I think it's just the eyes. I don't know. Did you know she used to date Peter Sellers? That is 10 kinds of awesome!

My favorite role ever is when she played Lucille 2 in Arrested Development. Yes, I liked her in that even more than her role in Cabaret!

Oh Liza was absolutely stunning in the 60s/70s. I adore the pictures you've posted of her with longer hair - I've never seen them before!

oh wow what a wonderful post and collection of Liza images. She comes to Vancouver about once a year to preform at the casino and I'm dying to see her but tickets are always over $100...sigh...I think I'm just going to have to do it next time. Even if its by myself, she's such performing!
