down by the river

This past Saturday we attended the second annual Shadfest held in Penn Treaty Park on the Delaware. The festival was created as an effort to raise money for improving the park and local community and also to bring awareness to the Shad fish that was once running rampant in the local rivers of the North East so much that it was called The Founding Fish by early settlers. Now it isn't as easy to come by after generations of over fishing and polluted rivers. But improvements are being made!
We lucked out with 70 degrees & sunny skies and over 4000 visitors. All in all, it was a beautiful day in the park and so great to spend the day outside with friends and neighbors. We look forward to our next festival in June in Northern Liberties. More on that later...

I Like Magick

Magick Outlaw is a Philadelphia based apparel and print company founded in August of 2003 upon the premise of independant ownership, total creative freedoms and a true explorer's zest for boundless limitations. Joel Peterson and Pete Whitney are the creative wizards behind this on-going saga of completely spellbinding apparel. Anchored in the fluorescent wilderness whilst marching hell-bent towards the cosmic future, their line has been described as "childishly amazing", "organic and emotional" and "very strange and magical like a Beavis and Butthead magic mushroom psychedelic 80's hallucination".

Available at Grasshopper. Don't say you weren't warned.
